Congratulations to Ms. Rajalekshmi for the first publication Chemical Engineering Journal (Impact factor 13.3). !!!!!!!
Our latest research effectively shines a light on the proof-of-concept for developing a membrane-free strategy for decoupling alkaline water electrolysis, which could lead to the economical production of green hydrogen. The expense of the membranes and the noble metal-based electrocatalysts remains a significant disadvantage for industries that primarily rely on PEM-based electrolyzers for the production of hydrogen. Here, we have developed non-precious transition metal-based hydroxides as a bifunctional electrocatalyst and solid-state redox mediator to decouple the entire alkaline water-splitting process into two independent steps for the generation of oxygen and hydrogen. This is currently the first and one and only report on membrane-free electrolyzer for decoupled water electrolysis from India.
This work is entitled as "Exploring transition metal hydroxides performance in membrane-free electrolyzer based decoupled water splitting for step-wise production of hydrogen and oxygen" has been published in Chemical Engineering Journal (Impact factor 13.3).
